Watch the horizon, and listen for the horns of war. If you hear them, run... The prairie vikings are coming!

Ashes of Yggdrasil is a 5 piece melodic death metal band from the barren prairies of Lloydminster, AB/SK. Formed in 2017, our sound has constantly evolved over the course of our three albums The Path (2019), Bearing the Pelt of the Wolf King (2021), and our newest Crossing of the Realms (2025). While we are melodic death metal, we have hints of thrash, black metal, and even the odd prog sprinkle just to shake things up!

THIS YEAR, WE BATTLED OUR WAY THROUGH THE WACKEN NETAL BATTLE ALL THE WAY TO MONTREAL, AND ALTHOUGH WE DIDN'T WIN, OUR SPIRITS ARE FULL FROM ALL THE NEW FANS WE MADE IN EASTERN CANADA, AND THE SUPPORT WE RECEIVED FROM OUR WESTERN CANADIAN SUPPORTERS!

If you like war drums, melodic guitars, thundering bass, vicious war cries, AND GROWN MEN DRESSED LIKE VIKINGS...we are your raiding party!
